How will I know if my application is being considered?
You may check the status of your application on-line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through USAJOBS by signing in and selecting "Application Status."


I live far from Washington, DC. Do you provide reimbursement for travel expenses if I am interviewed?
No. Students who are outside of the Washington may be interviewed virtually.


When will you make offers to successful applicants?
We can make offers any time.


Do you pay relocation expenses?
The FDIC does not pay for any relocation costs for interns.


What is the salary for an intern?
Salary information is posted in the vacancy announcement.


How are offers made?
"Tentative" offers are made by email. Upon a favorable suitability clearance, a formal job offer with proposed grade, salary and start date will be issued. Note that the suitability clearance process takes a minimum of two weeks.


How long will I be appointed for?
Typically, appointments are for one year. In some instances, there will be “summer” appointments. The length of the appointment will be posted in the vacancy announcement.


Does the FDIC hire Pathways interns at its locations outside Washington DC?
Yes. Each regional legal office makes its own determination on whether to hire pathways interns. Should a regional office decide to hire, it will post vacancy announcements at: https://www.usajobs.gov. The Legal Division has offices in Boston, MA; New York City, NY; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Kansas City, MO; Dallas, TX; and San Francisco, CA.
