The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will host an event focused on increasing awareness of resources that increase economic inclusion for the underserved. The purpose of the event is to expand collaboration opportunities between banks, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) serving low- and moderate-income individuals. FDIC staff will outline the Money Smart program, 2023 National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked, and the Get Banked! initiative. Tax experts will present information on the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and partnership opportunities.
