The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is convening the Increasing Culturally Competent Financial Services for Unincorporated Alameda County community development forum. This event will convene community-based organizations, community development financial institutions, and municipal service providers to develop and implement strategies that will improve the financial capability of low- and moderate- income households in unincorporated Alameda County, California. Unincorporated communities in Alameda County, specifically Ashland, Cherryland, Hayward Acres, South Castro Valley and San Lorenzo, struggle with high rates of poverty and unemployment in addition to poor health outcomes.
