FDIC Hosts Forum to Promote Access to Affordable Bank Accounts in Iowa

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host a webinar targeted to banks in Iowa. This event will provide an overview of the FDIC 2021 National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households and other resources, highlight research from the Cities for Financial Empowerment (CFE) Fund, and discuss the need to broaden access to bank accounts that meet CFE National Account Standards. Banks that offer these accounts will discuss best practices and successful collaborations between banks and community-based organizations in Iowa that resulted in economic inclusion for low- and moderate- income (LMI) households.
