The FDIC and the Louisiana Alliance for Economic Inclusion (AEI) will host a forum to discuss the roles affordable housing and tax assistance play in improving financial stability. With homeownership being a substantial contributor to building assets, affordability is a key factor in helping low- and moderate-income households create wealth. Speakers from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge and Capital Area United Way will highlight how their work with homeownership programs and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance strengthens the communities they serve.
Presenters:
- Candi Hagler, Assistant Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge
- Delores Hurst, Senior Director Community Impact & Equity, Capital Area United Way
- Tepricka Morgan, Community Affairs Specialist, FDIC
Who should attend:
Financial institutions, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), community-based organizations, state and local government, and other stakeholders across Louisiana interested in creating economic stability through affordable housing and in supporting Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs during the 2023 tax season.
