The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s (FDIC) Milwaukee Alliance for Economic Inclusion (AEI) and Bank On Greater Milwaukee will host a virtual meeting to look at solutions targeting credit invisible consumers in Milwaukee's Black, Indigenous, and Latinx households. Speakers will address how to find and use products that promise to help consumers build a stronger credit history. The number of products focused on establishing or rebuilding credit is a growing market. This co-sponsored meeting with Bank On and AEI will examine these products and discuss how to use this new financial empowerment strategy in Milwaukee’s under-resourced neighborhoods.
Presenters:
- Constance Alberts, Program Director, Bank On Greater Milwaukee
- Rod Griffin, Senior Director Consumer Education and Advocacy, Experian
- Jeff Langkamp, Chief Compliance Officer, Bank Five Nine
- Carol Maria, Community Affairs Specialist, FDIC
Who should attend:
Financial institutions, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), local and state government, non-profit and community-based organizations who are willing to implement empowerment strategies that can move the needle for consumers with little or no information on a credit report or increase awareness of the effective CRA service opportunities to improve banking access for low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities across Wisconsin.
