The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) of Richmond will host a webinar for banks and community-based organizations to promote tax season as an opportunity to provide free tax assistance to low- and moderate-income (LMI) households and to get more Americans banked. The webinar will feature the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) partnership organizations that will share tax resources, which benefit consumers and small businesses, and tax season partnership opportunities. The FDIC will share #GetBanked resources to help the unbanked population learn how to open a bank account to receive their tax refund.
