Cyber Fraud and Increased Cyber Risks from COVID-19

On December 3, 2020, the FDIC’s San Francisco Regional Office will host a cybersecurity-related teleconference. The teleconference will focus on financial crimes and fraud, how those areas have evolved in the cyber age, and guidance for reporting cyber events to regulators. Additionally, the presenters will discuss some of the increased cyber risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, such as phishing scams and security concerns associated with a remote workforce. The presenters will also share some best practices for monitoring and mitigating these risks.

The presentation will be followed by a 30 minute question and answer session. Participants may email their questions in advance to FDICSanFrancisco@FDIC.gov. Questions may also be submitted during the live broadcast.

San Francisco Region Supervised Banks: We encourage Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Presidents, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, and Internal Auditors to attend.

Registration Information:

The teleconference is open to FDIC-supervised institutions in the San Francisco Region. You will receive a confirmation email once completed. Participants may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their institution.
