The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host an in-person event focused on building financial capacity by increasing awareness of various initiatives for income tax services targeted to low- and moderate-income households and small businesses. Banks and community-based organizations (CBOs) can significantly impact the outcome of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program through their volunteer support efforts. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Bank On North Carolina, and HOPE Financial will highlight specific opportunities to build financial capacity by supporting VITA sites through bank and CBO partnerships.
