The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), with the support of the Department of Education and Achieving the Dream, will host a webinar to help increase awareness of federal financial education resources for community college professionals.
Community colleges serve large numbers of financially vulnerable students, who may benefit from resources and connections to help them make sound financial decisions and take empowering financial actions. In 2024, representatives of several key federal agencies heard first-hand about the need to assist students in these ways. Leaders from the FDIC, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will join a panel moderated by the Department of Education to share information about publicly available resources for building a more financially secure future. These resources can be integrated into community college student support services, curricula, and programs to foster greater fluency and knowledge.
