The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), United Way of Lehigh Valley, and The City of Bethlehem will cohost a community development walking tour in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The half-day event will take attendees to sites that serve low- to moderate-income communities in Bethlehem’s South Side. At each tour stop, attendees will learn how they can support the work, including affordable housing projects, a café that is also a job training facility, human services provided by the United Way and their partners, among others. Also, presenters will discuss the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development tax credit program, and how banks can leverage it to help facilitate community development in the state.
The tour will begin at Bethlehem’s City Hall Complex and include up to 3.3 miles of walking. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. Alternate transportation is available and can be requested using the special accommodations section of the registration page.
