The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is proud to offer a webinar series, Digital Equity Insights: Expanding Economic Inclusion for Stronger, Digitally-Inclusive Communities. This series brings together digital equity leaders and stakeholders to explore and develop collaborative strategies, as well as joint initiatives, that leverage geographic proximity to address shared digital equity challenges. This event is Webinar #1 of 4: Advancing Digital Equity – Key Moments, Concepts, and Funding Timelines. The webinar series aims to provide guidance, harness collective insights from practitioners, leverage expertise, and identify resources to support local communities across the Southeast Region to become more digitally-inclusive.
Title III of the Infrastructure Bill, also known as the Digital Equity Act of 2021 (Act), offers an unprecedented opportunity to tackle the digital divide impacting historically underserved and marginalized populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, rural communities, veterans, and low-income households. The Act authorizes over $2.75 billion in funding for digital equity programs over the next five years.
