On Friday, June 3, 2011, Atlantic Bank and Trust was closed by the Office of Thrift Supervision. The FDIC was named Receiver. First Citizens Bank and Trust Company, Inc., Columbia, SC acquired all deposit accounts.
The FDIC as Receiver for Atlantic Bank and Trust, Charleston, SC has taken all actions necessary to terminate the Receivership Estate. The Receiver published a legal notice of intent to terminate the receivership on May 22, 2023 and has made all dividend distributions required by law.
Effective December 1, 2023, the Receiver was discharged and the Receivership Estate was terminated and ceased existence as a legal entity.
