FDIC Names Charles Vice to Advisory Committee of State Regulators

WASHINGTON – The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) today announced that Charles Vice, Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Financial Institutions, is the newest member of the FDIC’s Advisory Committee of State Regulators (ACSR). Commissioner Vice joins 14 others who currently serve on the ACSR.

In addition, the FDIC announced that Chairman Jelena McWilliams and other members of its Board of Directors will host a meeting of this advisory committee at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The ACSR will discuss and receive updates on a range of policy issues regarding the regulation of state-chartered financial institutions throughout the U.S. and its territories. The meeting’s agenda includes a discussion of state banking conditions; an update from the FDIC’s Office of Innovation (FDITECH); a dialogue regarding state and federal coordination; a report on FDIC research relating to community banking; and an update on minority and community development banking. Created in November of 2019, the ACSR is a forum where state banking regulators and the FDIC can discuss a variety of current and emerging issues that have potential implications regarding the regulation and supervision of state-chartered financial institutions.
