SPECIAL ALERT

TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SUBJECT: Counterfeit Cashier's Checks

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has learned that counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on Founders Bank, Chesterfield, Missouri, are in circulation. The items bear the routing number 081903456, assigned to the Bank of Ste. Genevieve, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Attached for your information is a copy of one of the counterfeit instruments. If you need to verify the validity of a Founders Bank cashier's check or have any information about this matter, please contact:

Ms. Amy Reilly
Vice President/Corporate Development
Founders Bank
15500 Olive Boulevard
Chesterfield, Missouri 63017
Telephone: (636) 530-1550
Fax: (636) 530-1567
This appears to be part of a series of counterfeit items on different banks deposited by unsuspecting bank customers after selling automobiles and other merchandise. Banks should encourage their customers to verify the validity of cashier's checks before releasing any merchandise or before sending a part of the proceeds of the checks to any third party.

Information about these instruments also may be forwarded to the FDIC's Special Activities Section, 550 17th Street, NW, Room F-6012, Washington, DC 20429, or transmitted electronically to alert@fdic.gov .
