The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has learned that counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on Guaranty Bank of California, Los Angeles, California, are in circulation. The routing number is 122235902. It appears the checks may be circulating nationwide.
Attached for your information is a copy of one of the bank's legitimate cashier's checks and two copies of the counterfeit instruments. The bank's legitimate cashier's checks are blue and do not show the remitter name below the signature line. They also show the branch name and number on the top right side. The counterfeit cashier's checks are brown with the remitter's name printed under the signature line. They do not show the branch name and number.
