The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has learned that a substantial number of drafts drawn on Franklin First Savings Bank, 44 West Market Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, have been stolen. A copy of one of the stolen instruments is attached. The instruments have pre-printed signatures and bear serial numbers in the following ranges:

The FDIC also has learned that counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on Tri Counties Bank, Chico, California, are in circulation. The counterfeit instruments have an incorrect address for the bank, and the Federal Reserve routing symbol is incorrect. The legitimate cashier's checks have nine- digit serial numbers, while the counterfeit instruments presented to date have been numbered 30847 and 30848. Both the counterfeit instruments and the legitimate checks are blue in color. The counterfeit instruments presented to date also have the name "Marvin Jones" and Account #014-3572671 printed on the face, and are signed by "Sarah Jones." A copy of a counterfeit instrument and a copy of the bank's legitimate cashier's check are attached. Any information you have concerning this matter should be brought to the attention of:
