Attached is a copy of the Department of the Treasury's FinCEN Notice 97-1, published by the Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Each FinCEN Notice is designed to assist financial institutions stay abreast of Bank Secrecy Act compliance issues. In a continuing effort to assist banks in Bank Secrecy Act compliance and anti-money laundering efforts, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will forward each FinCEN Notice to FDIC-supervised banks. Please circulate copies to each department of your institution with Bank Secrecy Act compliance responsibilities.
